    FAQs

    floor care questions

Have questions about our routine floor care ?Here are the most common things NYC customers ask before booking with us

What types of commercial floors can be waxed?

We service VCT (vinyl composition tile), LVT (luxury vinyl tile), sheet vinyl, linoleum, sealed ceramic tile, sealed porcelain, sealed concrete, and select epoxy floors. We don’t wax unsealed natural stone, raw concrete, or untreated hardwood unless properly sealed first.

How long before we can walk on waxed floors?

Each wax coat takes 30-60 minutes to dry. We use commercial air movers to accelerate curing. Most jobs are walkable in 3-5 hours and ready for full traffic in 12-24 hours. Light traffic with booties possible sooner.

    Is commercial floor wax slip-resistant?

Yes. We use UL-certified commercial finishes that meet OSHA and ADA safety standards for slip resistance in offices, medical clinics, schools, and public buildings.

Can you clean and wax floors overnight?

Absolutely. Most commercial floor waxing is performed after business hours—evenings, nights, or weekends—to avoid disrupting operations and foot traffic. We work around your schedule and access requirements.

What's the difference between buffing and strip-and-wax?

Buffing uses high-speed burnishers to restore shine on existing wax. Strip-and-wax removes all old wax layers and applies fresh coats. Buffing is maintenance (monthly); strip-and-wax is restoration (2-4 times per year).

How often should commercial floors be waxed?

High-traffic areas (retail, schools, lobbies) need strip-and-wax every 3-6 months with monthly buffing. Medium-traffic areas (offices, hallways) need it every 6-12 months. We create custom schedules based on foot traffic and building use.

What areas and boroughs do you service?

Manhattan (Midtown, Financial District, Chelsea, SoHo), Brooklyn (Downtown Brooklyn, Industry City, Williamsburg), Queens (Long Island City, Astoria, Flushing), the Bronx, Staten Island, and Jersey City.

Do you offer green or low-VOC floor waxes?

Yes. We offer EPA-compliant low-VOC finishes for LEED-certified buildings, schools, healthcare facilities, and businesses prioritizing indoor air quality.
